Our Leadership Team


  • Barb Boyd
    Barb BoydPresident

    Responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Learning Circle tool and the associated services. Barb has also helped develop a public-private collaborative effort within Columbus to ensure the success of our children in school and the work force, called Learn4Life. Barb has a Bachelor of Arts from Capital University in Geology with a minor in Education and a Master in Business Administration from Franklin University. Currently she is a doctoral student at The Ohio State University in Human Development and Family Sciences.

    • Bill Cooper
      Bill CooperBoard Treasurer and Vice President, Business Operations

      Responsible for leading the Learning Circle Education Services operations, program management, hosting services, marketing and communications. He developed the process for Learning Circle which was implemented in Columbus City Schools. Bill is a Six Sigma Champion, a Project Management Professional, and has a Masters Certification in ITIL. He has a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University in Computer Science and Accounting.

      • Traci Davidson
        Traci DavidsonVice President, Innovation and Development

        Responsible for the technology direction of the IT department and development of projects and programming to advance corporate objectives. She provides leadership planning and management for all areas of information technology strategy and development. Traci has an MBA in Leadership and a BS in Computer Science, as well as her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. For 20 years, she has leveraged her knowledge of technology, software development and business operations to consistently deliver best in class solutions. Additionally, Traci brings a balance of entrepreneurial experiences, large corporate experiences, and non-profit experiences across multiple industries including, and most recently, the education market.

        • Janet Ligon
          Janet LigonVice President, Community Implementation Management

          Responsible for leading the development of business processes, and provides implementation management for community facing efforts, business rules, and determining and supporting stakeholder needs. Janet is a Certified Decision Support Engineer, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The Ohio State University and continued her studies in Computer Science at Columbus State Community College.

          • Charles (Ed) McClellan
            Charles (Ed) McClellanVice President, District Implementation Management

            Responsible for using identified business processes and rules to design, program, test and implement the Learning Circle® application. Ed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Business from DeVry University and continued his studies in business and accounting at Franklin University and Columbus State Community College

            • Dr. Cheryl Achterberg
              Dr. Cheryl AchterbergDean of the College of Education and Human Ecology Ohio State University

              Reveal: Dr. Cheryl Achterberg, Dean of the College of Education and Human Ecology at the Ohio State University, holds a Ph.D. in nutrition from Cornell University is published in the field of nutrition and has served as a consultant to several Boards and Councils. Dr. Achterberg served on multiple boards and committees, including the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, the Dannon Institute, and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Dr. Achterberg currently sits on the Learn4Life governing board.

              • Dr. Melissa Conrath
                Dr. Melissa ConrathSenior Lecturer in Educational Administration at the School of Educational Policy and Leadership The Ohio State University

                RevealL Dr. Melissa Conrath is a Senior Lecturer in Educational Administration at the School of Educational Policy and Leadership at The Ohio State University. She has served as a public school teacher and administrator for over 36 years. Dr. Conrath began her career as a high school science teacher and later moved into administration, serving in various district level curriculum positions. From there she became superintendent of Big Walnut Local Schools in Delaware County, a position she held for 10 years. Dr. Conrath later served as superintendent of Worthington Schools. As superintendent of Worthington, she had oversight of a district of 9,600 students and 1,200 employees and an operating budget of over $125 million. She has held several leadership positions in professional organizations that include serving on the Executive Board of the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA). Dr. Conrath received her Ph.D. in science education from The Ohio State University.

                • Karen Days
                  Karen DaysPresident of the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence (since 1999), and current interim President of the Center for Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children's Hospital

                  Reveal: Against Family Violence since 1999, also serves as president of the Center for Child and Family Advocacy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Ms. Days earned an MBA from Dominican University and serves on several boards, including the Mount Carmel Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, the YMCA Metropolitan General Board and the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Central Ohio.

                  • Dale Heydlauff
                    Dale HeydlauffVice President, Corporate Communications, AEP President, American Electric Power Foundation

                    Reveal: Dale E. Heydlauff is Vice President-Corporate Communications and president of the American Electric Power Foundation. His responsibilities include internal and external communications and oversight of corporate contributions and community relations. Heydlauff received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science in 1978 from Eastern Michigan University and completed an executive MBA program at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia in 1997. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Eastern Michigan University Foundation,, Learn4Life, Leadership Columbus and WOSU Public Media.

                    • Dr. Keisha Hunley-Jenkins
                      Dr. Keisha Hunley-JenkinsEsq., External Affairs Director Mayor's Office

                      Reveal: Dr. Keisha J. Hunley-Jenkins, Esq., is a Columbus native and graduate of the Columbus City Schools who earned her undergraduate, professional, and graduate degrees from The Ohio State University (OSU). Currently, she is the External Affairs Director in Mayor Michael B. Coleman’s Office where she oversees community and external partner outreach and engagement, leads special projects/initiatives, and assists with departmental management. Previously, she  was a Community Relations Associate at the JP Morgan ChaseFoundation where she facilitated more than $22M in annual grant making to the Midwest region; $4.5M of which was distributed in Ohio. Dr. Jenkins began her professional career as a Policy Analyst at, an objective, data-driven, education advocacy organization where she served on committees and work groups for education and neighborhood improvement initiatives. As adjunct faculty in the College of Education & Human Ecology at OSU, she has taught Legal Aspects of School Administration (K-12), Special Education Law (K-12 and Higher Education), and Higher Education Administration to graduate students pursuing masters/doctoral degrees and principal/superintendent licensure. Dr. Jenkins also serves as an Advisory Board Member of the OSU Young Scholars Program, Board Member of the Arts & College Preparatory Academy, and Ex-Officio Commissioner on the City Columbus’ Community Relations Commission.

                      • Chad Jester
                        Chad JesterChair, Vice President of Corporate Citizenship President of the Nationwide Insurance Foundation

                        Reveal: Chad Jester, Board Chair, is Vice President of Corporate Citizenship and President of the Nationwide Insurance Foundation. In addition to Learning Circle Education Services, Mr. Jester serves on multiple boards including the Columbus City Schools Education Foundation, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence, Community Shelter Board,, Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation, and American Red Cross Corporate Advisory Council. Mr. Jester also serves as Co-Chairman of the Board for Learn4Life.

                        • Kathy Shahbodaghi
                          Kathy ShahbodaghiPublic Services Director, Youth & Teen Services Columbus Metropolitan Library

                          Reveal: Kathy Shahbodaghi is a Public Services Director, Youth & Teen Services, at Columbus Metropolitan Library. She oversees all programs and services for children and their families from birth through the teen years. Kathy has served at the library for over 25 years, overseeing the implementation of 21 Homework Help Centers, the development and launch of CML’s Ready to Read Corps and the library’s annual Summer Reading Club, one of the largest reading clubs in the nation. She serves on the United Way’s Kindergarten Readiness Results Committee and the Learn4Life School Readiness Action Team.
